  3. Winter Studio Vibes: Battling Illness and Embracing Artistic Inspiration

Hey everyone!

We are in the middle of January, and I am finally starting to feel myself again for fighting this stupid bug. It’s not like the flu I used to get. They get longer and longer the strains. I wonder why, lol. I hope you are all doing well and keeping safe and inspired.

A lot is going on in the Studio. I am painting in and out of my cozy pyjamas because I have been sick and staying away from other humans. Being an artist is perfect for doing that, haha. The ‘HerStory‘ feature, a unique platform that celebrates female artists, came out, which was exciting to see and participate in. These magazines are all unique in how they feature their artists, who are always happy to share, and I get to make new friends worldwide.
I’m thrilled to share that Artist Talk magazine will feature my work in its upcoming issue on January 25th. I can’t wait for you to see it when I share it on my page. I am truly grateful for your unwavering support and will keep you posted on all the exciting developments.

I posted the ‘Gathering’ tonight to see my final process colour. This painting, inspired by a serene gathering I witnessed many years ago, has been an emotional journey. It’s a torment of communication with my work, working through the layers of colour until I decide that the language is mutual, and I feel a sense of calm and serenity. As you have watched my process unfold in the coloured layers, this is the last layer of colour in this beautiful hue of mossy green, which has set the stage for my story to unfold the same way I saw it many years ago in real life. All the hues underneath have played a role in my process, and now the glow and feeling that is alive has finally shown itself to me, so I can finish and add all the details very excitedly. The most challenging part is over. Patience is a virtue in all its glory. This is so true, and I can’t wait to finish.

While it’s quiet here in the Studio, I’m excited to share more with you. The prints are now available in the storefront, and I can’t wait to show you how beautiful they turned out. I’ve even put one in a vintage frame, which looks fabulous.

Instagram has changed its algorithm again, so I must show myself more often to reach my audience. I wish to share and not do the Instagram thing, but I have to keep up with the times when necessary.

Okay, guys. I’m back to work, so have a great night, and stay safe. I will see you in a week for some small talk.

Life’s journey,
– Gio
